How Organizations work, how to belong to more than one and how to switch between them.

How CharmIQ accounts and billing work — what Organizations are, how to belong to more than one and which one is active when you work.
What an Organization Is
Every action you take in CharmIQ — running a Charm, generating an image, querying data — happens within an Organization. The Organization is your billing and operating context. Credits are consumed by an Organization, not by individual users. Usage reports belong to an Organization. Access controls are set at the Organization level.Think of it this way: the workspace is where you work. The Organization is who pays for it.
Your Organizations
Every CharmIQ user has at least one Organization automatically: your personal Organization, created when you sign up. This is tied to your individual plan.If you're part of a Company — whether as an employee, a consultant or a collaborator — you'll be added to that Company's Organization. You can belong to any number of Company Organizations simultaneously.A few common scenarios:
Just you. One Organization: your personal account.
You plus your employer. Two Organizations: personal, plus your company's.
You as a consultant. Multiple Organizations: personal, plus one per client company.
Each Organization has its own credits, its own Charms, its own documents, and its own members. Nothing crosses between them unless you explicitly move it.
The Active Organization
When you're using CharmIQ, you're always operating within exactly one Organization at a time. That's the active Organization — the one that gets billed, the one whose Charms you see, the one whose documents you're working in.You choose which Organization is active. The UI always shows you which one you're in.
Switching Organizations
To switch your active Organization, use the Organization switcher in the navigation. Select the Organization you want to work in, and CharmIQ reloads with that context — your Charms, your documents, your credits for that Organization. You don't lose anything by switching. Your other Organizations remain exactly as you left them.
Why This Matters
Credits. When a Charm runs, credits are deducted from the active Organization's balance — not from a personal pool. Make sure you're in the right Organization before running credit-intensive work.Integrations. When you connect an external tool (Claude Code, VS Code, Zapier) to CharmIQ via OAuth, you're connecting it to a specific Organization. The access token it receives only works for that Organization. If you need a tool to access multiple Organizations, you authorize separately for each.
